Laughing Planet journeys
Abounding with Mayan myths and stories, Guatemala offers a delightful visual surprise around every cobblestoned corner. Capture the heartbeat of the people and culture as you create your own story. You shoot and travel each day with a small group and leaders Sherrlyn and Karen through the ancient magnificent Mayan highlands. You will have these two professional photographers available to work alongside with each day or you can work independently. Our photo talk sessions are short so that you have the opportunity to explore your story, portraits and places. Every few days we'll have a presentation of your photos and analysis of images you're shooting.

We kick start this trip October 30 with a day photographing the colorful Mayan Kite Ceremony on All Saints' Day. This old tradition is a wild fiesta of color in the sky very worthy of the best photographers. Savor the delicious food served in this UNESCO town, Antigua before we head off to the gorgeous highlands. We will stay several nights on the magnificent volcanic Lago Atitlán and photograph the early morning activity. Our hotel is a cute hotel run by a Mayan family. In no time at all you'll feel like part of the family. It's a place where visual opportunities abound. You can paddle out on a canoe, climb a volcano or meander through the winding streets exploring with your camera.
