Travel with Purpose
Travel Cuba 2020 or Travel Guatemala 20202
friendships, flexibility, PHOTOGRAPHY and Goodwill
are the foundation of our journeys. Small group travel provides us flexibility to see places in Cuba and Guatemala. We get to interact with people that the common tourist will never experience. You will have fantastic stories to return home with, magnificent images, and life changing experiences. Our leaders are accomplished experts in photography, travel, environmental and humanitarian work with years and years of education and experience. Most of us have lived a majority part of our life on different continents.
We are travelers not tourists
We engage with people, spread goodwill, incorporate learning experiences into our photography and do meaningful activities that leave a positive impact on the country and people we visit." - Sherrlyn Borkgren
CUBA Travel and Photography 2020
We are so happy and excited that, Cuban expert and author, Hal Klepak will be visiting us in Cuba for a remarkable Cuban conversation, and Cuban Journalist, Elaine Diaz will also be our guest and we’ll learn what it’s like to be a journalist in Cuba. Diaz started the first online news organization in Cuba and has endured a lot of road blocks. I can’t wait to meet and converse with these incredible Cuban experts.
Remarkable places and people are often bypassed in order to stay on agendas when in a larger group. We travel as we would for an assignment whether for National Geographic Magazine or Save-the-Children.
This may include stopping off schedule to talk to an interesting person, pulling the vehicle over to photograph a spectacular sunset, following the aroma that leads to a special cafe, staying up late or getting up extra early because something extraordinary is developing. Small is powerful. While based on travel photography and goodwill we invite all kinds of artists, writers, bird watchers and welcome partners to partake. Variety kindles excellence.
GUATEMALA TRAVEL 2O2O We are invited to eat a homemade meal at the home of a pleasant Guatemalan family. We chose this family because of their struggle to keep their teenage children in school. Buying lunch from them aids them in their efforts for educating their children and more. When we travel to amazing Lake Atitlan we'll stay at a small comfortable Mayan hotel on the lake that also enables the native Mayan people. We are in Guatemala just before the crazy Easter rush but we are in Antigua in time to catch some of the pre-Easter Guatemala festivals and merriment. It’s an exciting time to be in Guatemala.
We avoid the corporate for real and personable adventures. You'll have ample time to explore and photograph on your own, join an optional excursions like canoeing, bird-watching or even climb a volcano. We usually eat dinner and breakfast together. You can share your photos and stories after lunch but we are flexible about the timing due to the many things that are happening around us, we don't want to miss anything.
We encourage friendship, sharing and cooperating. We'd love to have you come with us.
